Snowboard Supervisor
The Gore Mountain Snow Sports School is hiring a Snowboard Supervisor for the 2008-09 season. The Snowboard Division of the Snow Sports School has approximately 56 instructors, making up 27% of the Snow Sports Staff. 34% of the Snowboard staff are certified AASI instructors. The majority of snowboard lessons taught are to children and teens. The Snowboard Supervisor reports directly to the Snow Sports School Director.

Duties include, but are not limited to: training snowboard staff; set up training clinics and schedules for new staff, veteran staff, and certification training; work with other Snowboard trainers to ensure all trainers are presenting consistent technical information, teaching styles, and contemporary riding styles when teaching clinics; conduct snowboard lineups, assigning staff to appropriate lesson groups; teach class lessons; observe instructors’ lessons and give feedback as needed on lesson outcomes; participate in supervisory staff meetings as scheduled; work as a team member with other supervisors and Snow Sports Director to ensure lessons are assigned, lineups are organized, and quality lessons are administered; assist with scheduling of snowboard staff.

Full time 40 hrs week preferred. Part-time, minimum of both weekend days (Sat & Sun)and Holidays will be considered.

Qualifications: Minimum level 2 AASI certification. Or, certification PSIA level 2 and AASI level 1 combination may be substituted for AASI level 2.

Minimum 4 years snowboard teaching experience

Experience in Microsoft Word & Excel

Prior supervisory experience

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Attention to detail, ability to problem solve and multi-task

Ability to work as a team member a MUST.

KIDS KLUB SUPERVISOR
The Gore Mountain Kids Klub program enrolls approximately 4500 children per season who are taught ski and/or snowboard lessons in half and full-day sessions. Gore Mountain is currently looking to fill the position of the Kids Klub Supervisor. This individual will report to the Snow Sports School Director.

The KK Supervisor establishes a positive learning environment and manages all aspects of the program including: staff hiring, on-going staff training, planning, teaching ski or snowboard lessons, organizing on and off-snow activities, and assists in the management of the children’s terrain garden. The KK supervisor will make the children’s experience, both on and off-snow, exciting, enjoyable, rewarding and memorable.

The Kids Klub supervisor will be a hands-on working supervisor, overseeing both the outdoor and indoor operations of the Kids Klub Program. We are looking for a person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to demonstrate and lead.

Responsibilities include:

a. Hiring staff

b. On-hill staff training

c. Assign lessons to Instructors

d. Registration of Participants

e. Ordering and managing lunches

f. Risk Management in conjunction with other Departments, both on and off the mountain

g. Coordinate Mountain Adventure program

h. Teach lessons as needed

i. Interacts and coordinates with other Departments and Supervisors

j. Other duties as assigned by Snow Sports School Director

Database management, will learn RTP operations system. This is a full-time, seasonal position.

Qualifications: At minimum:

a. Level II PSIA/AASI Certification

b. 5 years snow sports teaching experience

c. Bachelor’s degree, with a BS in Elementary Education preferred

d. Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of PSIA’s CAP model, VAK concepts, and how children learn

e. Computer skills in Word and Excel
