Six-Week Programs

Overview

Our Six-Week Mountain Adventure program is a great way for children ages 4-12 to explore Gore Mountain’s variety of terrain while building their skiing/riding skills. Your child will ski/ride with consistent coaching and the camaraderie of their program group, all while building a strong foundation of skills. Choose the weekend day that works best with your family’s schedule, all 6 Saturdays or all 6 Sundays.

This popular Six-Week Program helps develop your child’s skills while giving them the opportunity to practice on a variety of terrain each week.  All-day lift tickets for each program day are included in program pricing; no add-ons or upgrades required!

Six-Week Programs For Kids 2026/27

Program Requirements: All participants must already be Novice level skiers/riders: able to link turns and stop on all green terrain. Independently ride a chair lift. 7-13 years old participants must also be able to get on and off the chair without assistance. See our chart to determine your child’s ability level.

• Kids meet ALL Saturdays OR ALL Sundays, January 9 – February 28, 2027.
  • Choose ALL 6 Saturdays- January 9 – February 27 (no program January 16 & February 13).
  • Choose ALL 6 Sundays- January 10 – February 28 (no program January 17 & February 14).
• Classes are on snow with their coaches for 2.5-hour sessions.
  • Morning meeting time is 9:15am, on-snow sessions 9:30am-12pm.
  • Meeting location is at the lesson line-up area next to the Northwoods Lodge near the Sunway Chair.
• Students must be at least 4 yrs. old by Dec 1, 2026.
• Lunch is not included.
• We offer private lessons for beginner levels.

Snow Sports Ability Chart

Ability levels are rough approximations of the student’s skills and allow us to group students of a similar level for lessons. When booking your lesson, select the level that best describes your ability level.

SKI

• Level 1, First Time – I’m a first time skier who is brand new to the sport.
• Level 2, Second Time – I’ve skied before, but still learning to make turns.
• Level 3, Novice – I can turn my skis with control in both directions on easy green terrain.
• Level 4, Intermediate – I am developing parallel turns on intermediate blue terrain.
• Level 5, Advanced – I can make controlled parallel turns on expert black diamond terrain.

SNOWBOARD

• Level 1, First Time – I’m a first time snowboarder who is brand new to the sport.
• Level 2, Second Time – I’ve snowboarded before, but still learning to make turns.
• Level 3, Novice – I can traverse and link turns on easy green terrain.
• Level 4, Intermediate – I can make controlled turns on intermediate blue terrain.
• Level 5, Advanced – I can make controlled turns on expert black terrain.

Reservation Policy

For Multi-Week Lessons/Programs:

• All purchases are final.
• Participant must be within the determined Lesson/Program age range at the start of the Lesson/Program.
• Gore Mountain reserves the right to change Lesson/Program dates and/or hours at any time based on weather, snow, crowds, capacity restrictions, special events, or any other condition or reason.

All Multi-Week Lesson/Program participants must electronically sign the 2023/24 Day and Multi-Week Lesson/Program Agreement. If purchasing online, you’ll be presented with the 2023/24 Day and Multi-Week Lesson/Program Agreement prior to checkout. If purchasing over the phone, you should receive an email with a link to electronically sign this document.

You will receive the program check-in time and location in your confirmation email. Programs are in session every day the Snow Sports School is open, regardless of weather conditions. During inclement weather, we will take indoor breaks as necessary.
