Our scenic skyrides are a great way to spend anything between a half-hour or the whole day at Gore. Enjoy stunning views of the High Peaks and Southern Adirondacks, and take the time to hike or picnic. Aboard our 8-passenger gondola cabins* you can easily fit mountain bikes, strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers – this skyride is also suitable for small children or those timid of heights.

Overview

Our gondola takes you to the summit of Bear Mountain, offering multiple scenic views of the Southern Adirondacks and The High Peaks. Please note there is no food service at the top of either skyride, and restrooms are located in the Saddle Lodge near the top of the chairlift (.4 mile hike from the top of the gondola). Picnic tables are available at the summit.

Skyride tickets can be purchased online in advance or on the same day at our ticket windows. Children ages 6 & under must have a ticket to ride the scenic skyride. All skyride tickets are valid for one scenic skyride (round-trip or ride only up/down). If you bought your skyride ticket online, do not take your QR code to the lift. Online tickets must be exchanged for RFID skyride cards printed at the ticket windows or in Guest Services.

*Please Note: The Northwoods Gondola may be substituted with the Adirondack Express open-air chairlift on days when the summer heat index makes it unsafe to ride in enclosed gondola cabins. Chairlift riders must be able to approach the loading area unassisted and sit upright in their own seat. Please check our Activities Report for up-to-date information. 2025 Skyride & Bike Season Pass: Enjoy unlimited scenic skyrides and lift-serviced hiking/downhill mountain biking during scheduled operating hours in the summer and fall! This pass is non-transferable and is valid from July 5, 2025, through October 12, 2025.
